Apple Opens Application for WWDC Tickets

Apple Opens Application for WWDC Tickets

Starting Friday, Apple developers are set to apply for the Worldwide Developers Conference, an Apple event that is much awaited by top and new developers in the world. The said conference takes places at Moscone West, San Francisco on June 8-12.

Those interested can apply for tickets online from 10 am on Friday, but attendees will be selected using as random system, said Apple. The developers would know if they would get a ticket on April 20, the company added.

Based on sources, the conference this year would have over 100 technical sessions and over a thousand Apple engineers who give their supporting hands on events and labs, it added.  Up to 350 scholarships will be available, while a ticket costs $1,599.

Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Philip Schiller, said that they got incredible latest technologies for OS X and iOS that they would share with the developers to attend the conference, and that they could not wait to see the future app development, in a press release.

Last year, the WWDC drew attendees from 69 countries, and among those 70 percent were first timers.  There were roughly 5000 people expected at the said conference.

Apple highlighted that for more than 20 million people who could not attend the conference, they were able to watch keynote presentations.

This year, Apple said it would give more sessions especially targeted for developers.  But when asked for a comment, an Apple representative did not reply as to how many sessions would be held this year.
