Evan Blass, the former employee of Engadget tweeted a video of the BlackBerry Venice, the first smartphone from the Canadian company to run on Android.

Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks, tweeted early Wednesday morning:

“BlackBerry Venice confirmed for November release on all four national US carriers.”

Evan Blass is well known for his leaks of smartphones and other gadgets. He is one of the major sources of information regarding the BlackBerry Venice since rumors regarding the device began to appear in 2014. Today’s video and images have almost confirmed that the BlackBerry Android device will soon be launched.

A BlackBerry spokeswoman told CNET:

“We don’t comment on rumors and speculation, but we remain committed to the BlackBerry 10 operating system, which provides security and productivity benefits that are unmatched.”

Expected specs of the BlackBerry Venice:

According to various rumors and speculations, the latest BlackBerry smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The device will sport a 5.4-inch 2,560×1, 440 pixel QHD LCD screen.

In March, the phone was showcased at Mobile World Congress and is said to sport a dual-curved, all-touch display with a qwerty keyboard. But the most intriguing aspect is that the Venice phone will reportedly run Google’s Android OS.

Blackberry’s smartphone market share is less than one percent and is struggling to keep its business alive. The company has been trying very hard to make a place in the smartphone market by releasing new phones for the past few years, including the BlackBerry Passport and the BlackBerry Classic.

The BlackBerry Venice would be the first smartphone in which the company embraces another OS instead of its own OS.
