Now you can use Cortana on the OS X desktop, using Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac

Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac will let you use Cortana, Microsoft’s digital assistant on the OS X desktop.

What is the purpose of using the Parallels software?

The Parallels software program is a virtualization system that lets users run OS X and other OS side-by-side on a Mac computer without requiring separate computers. The program lets software developers protect their host computers by isolating possible viruses to the OS, which has been affected.

Now with the use of latest Parallels software, users can use the two latest operating systems of 2015; the upcoming OS X El Capitan and Windows 10 together. The company claims that the software is 50 percent faster than the previous versions.

The company wrote in video description regarding the Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac:

“Bring Windows goodness to your Mac! Use Cortana, the Microsoft speech enabled virtual assistant, even when your Windows 10 virtual machine is not the forefront application on your Mac. Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac introduces this feature, and many others, to your Mac.”

Three product choices are given to the customers

With the upgrade, customers are given three product choices: Parallels Desktop for Mac Business Edition, Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac Pro Edition and Parallels Desktop 11.

Cortana can now pop up from the OS X dock

Parallels latest software blend Windows 10 elements into OS X in such a way that Window 10 features will seem like part of the Mac. For instance, when you say “Hey, Cortana” on your Mac; it will pop up from the OS X dock. You can use Cortana like you use on your Window 10 PC and can be used to launch even the Mac apps.

What will be the cost for the latest Parallels software?

Users who have already purchased Parallels version 9 or 10 can upgrade to version 11 for $49.99 and they can also upgrade to the Pro edition for $49.99 per year. For new customers, Parallels Desktop 11 will cost nearly $79.99, while both the Business Edition and the Mac Pro Edition will cost $99.99 per year. You can download a free trial of Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac from the company’s official website.
