Denmark vs Sweden the highlight of Euro 2016 play-offs

Ireland were unlucky not to make the automatic qualification positions in their group, which were eventually claimed by Poland and World Cup holder Germany. The pick of the games sees Sweden lock horns with their neighbours, Denmark, while the Repbulic of Ireland will do battle with Bosnia Herzegovina.

Elsewhere Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be aiming to carry Sweden to another major tournament with victory over Denmark and Ukraine and Norway should fancy their chances against Slovenia and Hungary respectively.

The Bosnians finished third in Group B – behind Wales – and go into these play-offs as perhaps the most dangerous side.

All first leg ties will take place between 12 to 14 November, with the second legs going ahead just a few days later.

Sweden will face Denmark in an all-Scandinavian affair in the Euro 2016 play-offs.

“I know Norwegian football very well – no one needs to introduce the opposition to us – so we know an excellent team awaits us”, Hungary coach Bernd Storck told reporters.

“Now, for the players, it will be very hard, we need to get well prepared, negotiate the first match well and then go there with a great hope – even with all the difficulties we still face to qualify”.

The games will be played during the FIFA fixture window from Nov. 9-17, during which time CONCACAF’s World Cup qualifying campaign will resume with both the United States (Matt Besler, Graham Zusi) and Canada (Marcel de Jong) in action on Nov. 13 and Nov. 17.
