GG1 maybe the new version of Google Glass

The Google Glass program was moved into Nest division run by Tony Fadell at the beginning of the year.

Since then there are many speculations about the new version of Google Glass. GG1 maybe the new version of Google Glass, because an anonymous piece of Google hardware was logged by the US FFC (Federal Communications Commission).

The US FFC tests electronic products to make sure that they are safe for human contact. Droidlife spotted that FFC has logged an anonymous electronic device codenamed A4R-GG1 this week.

Reported details of GG1: the new version of Google Glass:

The details of the anonymous electronic device dubbed as GG1 have not been disclosed, but the device will reportedly support 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi in 2.4GHz as well as 5GHz. Moreover, it will also be equipped with Bluetooth LE, and an inbuilt rechargeable battery.

Furthermore, the section for the A4R-GG1 label with FCC info has disclosed a rectangular box which is an e-label similar to a Glass screen. The FCC mentioned that the info can be accessed via the following steps:
1. Go to the settings menu
2. Select regulatory information
3. Then scroll left and right to view device e-labels

After we saw a number of adverts posted on Google’s website, we can say that the Google Glass team had changed its focus to develop smart eyewear and other related products. The job listings include a Hardware Automation Engineer, an Audio Hardware Manager, an RF Systems Engineer and a Human Factors Designer.

Google pulled out the Google Glass from the market in January, but hinted that it was planning to release a new version of Google Glass (When it will be ready). Google may be looking to embellish Glass into a family of assorted wearable with GG1, instead of the single head mounted device that struggled to make its place in the market. GG1 maybe the new version of Google Glass, but there are no details when this anonymous device will be released.
