The Xiaomi Mi smartwatch is something we all have been anticipating for since the smartwatch rumors emerged a few years ago.
Well, Xiaomi isn’t new to smart wearables as it has already entered into the wearable game with Mi Band 1S late in 2015 and now it’ll be launching the Mi Smartwatch soon.
Will Mi Smartwatch be launched on May 10?
Well, Xiaomi will be unveiling some new products and software at an event on May 10. However, word has surfaced that another device will be unveiled AFTER this event and this will be the much-awaited Mi smartwatch.
Xiaomi’s VP Liu De has confirmed at a Beijing conference that the smart wearable is almost ready and will hit the market in 2016 Q2.
Xiaomi does have a smartwatch that that is aimed directly at kids and the Mi Band wearable for adults. Both of the products are doing well in the market.
So, this smartwatch is also expected to live up to the expectations of the people.
What about its features?
With its official confirmation, we hope to hear all the features and details of the device soon.
But the company is mum about it perhaps details will be offered on May 10. We can only expect to learn more about the wearable in the coming days.
Liu De also said that the company will be focusing on offline outlets this year, which means retail stores, will pop up (at least in China). But for the time being, there is no indication on exact locations.
That’s great news, as you don’t have to sit on your laptop every Wednesday for Xiaomi’s 2.00 P.M sale.
He also revealed that the company isn’t planning to release automobiles, unlike LeEco. Instead, it’s interested in products catering to the needs of short travel. So we can expect products like self-balancing walking robots like Ninebot and electric bikes.
