Microsoft latest Snip app is much more than a screen capture tool

The Microsoft latest Snip app has been introduced by the tech giant, which is a screen capture tool, but is more than what you are thinking.

Some insights into the Microsoft latest Snip app:

Snip app will let you capture your current screen, a picture from your webcam and even make a new whiteboard image by doodling with a pen tool. This lightweight Windows app will be available at the top of your desktop screen for easy access while working on other apps.

However, the Microsoft latest Snip app does not restrict you to doodles and static images, it has an inbuilt recording feature that will let you add voice recordings as you annotate. Recordings can then be converted into videos that can be shared via a link, mail or in an embeddable format hosted by Microsoft.

Using the tool to use annotations and recording voice and will help you in creating a quick explainer (As seen in many YouTube videos.) This screen capture tool also shows the pixel dimensions of the image being highlighted by you. But once a selection is made, there is no other way to modify or crop it without starting over. The library of snipped content created by the tool called Snips is comparable to the library of Sway content captures in design created by the Microsoft Sway tool.

According to our sources, the company is considering to include the Snap app in the Office Mix, which has earlier served as a set of additional tools for PowerPoint (Last year Microsoft fielded Mix). So we can expect Mix to expand into a suite of utilities for Office and Windows users.

There are a number of screen capturing tools available for Windows, but most of them are paid. However, the Microsoft latest Snip app is currently available as a free beta and the company has not yet revealed whether the app will be paid in the future or not.
