There is one good news for the people still using the first-generation webOS TV of LG and regret that didn’t wait for a webOS 2.0 set. According to the latest announcement by the South Korean Giant, the owners of LG Smart TV to get free upgrade to WebOS 2.0 soon.
LG Smart TV to get free upgrade to WebOS 2.0 and according to the South Korean Giant, it will give TV owners “virtually all of the new webOS 2.0 features that debuted on this year’s new Smart TV models.”
David VanderWaal, Vice President of Marketing, LG Electronics said:
“As more consumers embrace streaming content as a preferred method for their video consumption, our goal is to ensure LG smart TVs are offering the simplest, fastest ways to access content services.”

LG Smart TV to get free upgrade to WebOS 2.0, which is offering a few interface tweaks and improves shortcuts. The new version will give you the ability to add TV channels directly to the launcher bar.
Quick Settings, an overlay on top of playing content has been added that will let you tweak display settings and there are some improvements in the Live Menu also. LG claims that the WebOS 2.0 will be more than 1.5 times faster than the current version on 2014 TVs.
The South Korean Giant also said that the selected 2014 and 2015 Smart TVs with WebOS will get the DirecTV Ready app. It will let subscribers watch DirecTV programs on the TVs without connecting an external box.
Owners of LG Smart TV to get free upgrade to WebOS 2.0, who are running its 2014 line of televisions on September 21. TV owners who have enabled automatic updates will get the software upgrade automatically while those who have turned this feature off will be notified.
