What are the enhancements in OSVR latest HDK 1.3?

The latest Hacker development kit version 1.3 will come with the same 5.5-inch 1080p OLED display and IR camera as HDK 1.2. But, it is said to come with improved optics, display and will offer a large view box for people with glasses.

OSVR is introducing a new content discovery platform on their site to display videos and games compatible with the headset. OSVR latest HDK 1.3 now supports NVIDIA’s Gameworks VR, a platform that runs the headset as a direct VR device instead of recognizing it as an external display.

CEO of OSVR partner Sensics, Yuval Boger, said:

“Our work with Nvidia is a key step towards achieving our goal of providing developers with a comprehensive infrastructure that allows creating high-performance VR and AR experiences regardless of the particular operating system, HMD platform, game engine, or input peripherals. OSVR allows the VR/AR community to create exciting experiences without being locked in to any single vendor.”

The latest HDK 1.3 comes with the dual-lenses, which delivers reduced distortion (less than 13 percent) and provide developers with almost perfect image quality. It reduces the required development efforts to a great extent.

What is the cost of HDK 1.3?
