Rise of the Tomb Raider for PS4 and PC will be launched by 2016

Square Enix, publisher of the game Rise of the Tomb Raider has confirmed that the game will be available for PS4 and PC by 2016. The Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game are set to be released on November 10, 2015.

Last year at Gamescom , Square Enix announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider would be exclusive to Xbox platforms, but now the company has cleared the meaning of exclusivity. The game will be exclusive only for one year. There were many fans who were upset to know the game exclusivity, but now they must be very happy.

Square Enix said in a statement:

“The game will be a console exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 for one year after its initial launch, coming to PlayStation 4 (PS4) in Holiday 2016. Renowned developer Crystal Dynamics, a Square Enix studio, is leading development in the latest entry in the iconic series for additional platforms.”

It is not that there are only Xbox exclusive games; there are various PlayStation exclusive games also. Street Fighter V and Shenmue III are examples of games from external publishers that are exclusive to PlayStation 4.

What can we expect from Rise of the Tomb Raider?

Square Enix said “Laura Croft must explore the most treacherous and remote regions of Siberia to find the secret of immortality before a ruthless organization known as Trinity. Players will experience high-octane action moments, conquer beautifully hostile environments, engage in brutal guerrilla combat, and explore awe-inspiring deadly tombs in the evolution of survival action.”

Rise of the Tomb Raider is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and will serve as a sequel to the Tomb Raider reboot. More than 42 million copies of the Tomb Raider franchise have been sold globally and the film adaptation of the game has collected more than $300 million at the global box office.
