TeamViewer and Atheer Announce Strategic Partnership and Technology Integration to Benefit Smart Glasses Users
TeamViewer Integration With Atheer AiR™ Platform Enables Richer Collaboration Capabilities and Remote Administration of Smart Glasses
TAMPA, FL and MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA–(Marketwired – Dec 3, 2015) – TeamViewer®, the global pioneer of remote control and online collaboration software, today announced a strategic partnership with Atheer, creators of the new AiR™ (Augmented interactive Reality™) computing platform including the AiR Glasses, the world’s most interactive smart glasses, and the collaboration-centric AiR Enterprise Suite. TeamViewer’s software has been integrated within the AiR platform to enable remote screen sharing and control of smart glasses for live field professional guidance, administration and support.
This partnership announcement coincides with the release of TeamViewer’s latest version of its flagship product, TeamViewer 11. With TeamViewer 11, TeamViewer is the first solution to provide easy and uncomplicated access to unattended Android devices. Unattended access is vital for companies maintaining enterprise-class devices, such as the Android-based Atheer AiR Glasses, since staff is no longer required to be present to confirm the incoming connection. At the same time, key security concerns such as data protection and privacy are guaranteed as initial access to unattended devices can only be granted by authorized staff.
“TeamViewer’s innovative platform and set of APIs serves as a flexible and adjustable interface, enabling us to partner with some of the most well-known and innovative companies in the world,” said Andreas Koenig, CEO of TeamViewer. “With the rise of Internet of Things (IoT), TeamViewer is beginning to play a critical role in managing devices such as the AiR Glasses that do not have a conventional screen. Our partnership with Atheer is a perfect example of our foray into device management beyond smartphones and desktops, an area we expect to become a substantial source of growth for our company.”
Atheer’s AiR Glasses bring augmented reality to the workplace, enabling wearers to see critical work information in their field-of-view and then interact with the information using familiar gestures, voice commands, and motion tracking. Using the AiR Enterprise Suite, a cloud-based collaboration and task flow interaction solution, “deskless” professionals can team up with remote experts via video calls and receive guidance through real-time image annotations when resolving issues that may arise in the field.
“Smart glasses-based AiR computing is the next paradigm in mobile computing,” said Alberto Torres, CEO of Atheer. “Whether it’s to access 3D models and field service checklists or to see a patient’s vitals, Atheer AiR is providing real utility in a variety of work environments for Fortune 1000 Companies. By adding TeamViewer’s remote screen sharing and control capabilities, our customers can deliver the enterprise-grade support and administration required to fully harness the power of Atheer’s AiR Glasses.”
