Lenovo Has Released Lighter Weight Laptops Than the MacBook

Recently, Lenovo has released its latest super-svelte LaVie Z laptop that entices Windows fans. It is lightweight as the Apple 12-inch MacBook. Lenovo is offering the new addition to its laptop lineup in 2 versions – the LaVie Z 360 convertible and the standard LaVie Z.

The new laptop weighs at 1.87 pounds, weighing lesser than the Apple 12-inch MacBook, which is at 2.03 pounds. Also, the LaVie Z has a larger screen with 13.3 inches in measurement. The light weight is attributed to the Magnesium-Lithium alloy chassis of the laptop, weighing has less than aluminum, but as sturdy as magnesium alloy.

LaVie Z has a slightly beat when it comes to its pixels with a higher resolution than Apple’s MacBook. It offers a Retina display at 2560-by-1440, however, a lower ppi count at 220. The MacBook is much thinner with 0.52-inch at its thickest point, while the LaVie Z at 0.67-inch.

Under the hood of both models, the standard and the convertible are boasting a 2.40GHz Intel Core i7-5500U, 256GB SSD, 8GB of RAM, and integrated Intel graphics. There are also 2 USB 3.0 ports – one of which is an SD card reader, while the other an HDMI-out port. Moreover, the convertible flavor comes with a touch screen. These models are directly available from Lenovo at $1500 for the basic laptop, while $1700 for the LaVie Z 360 convertible.
