Dragon Quest XI release confirmed on Nintendo NX along with Sony PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS

Square Enix has officially announced that the Dragon Quest XI will be released on Nintendo NX along with Sony PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. This announcement was made by Square Enix during a special livestream event in Japan, where it was also revealed that the PlayStation 4 version will be developed on Unreal Engine 4.

Some details regarding the Dragon Quest XI 3DS version:

The Nintendo 3DS version seems to be developed in association with a third party studio. Surprisingly, the Nintendo 3DS version displays the game in a cutting edge visual style similar to the Nintendo DS entries in the series, while the bottom screen takes a top down visual style. The presentation of the battles will be styled in such a way that it will match the two visual styles flawlessly.

The livestream was hosted in Japanese, so details on both versions of Dragon Quest XI are not available. But it is expected that Square Enix will soon provide more information regarding it.

During the livestream, the game developers also announced the Dragon Quest X, a massively multiplayer online RPG entry in the series, which will be released for PS 4. Earlier the Dragon Quest X was available only for 3DS, Wii U and PC.

Though Square Enix confirmed the Dragon Quest XI and Dragon Quest X release on Nintendo NX, yet it did not provide any details on the versions of the game. The release date for Dragon Quest XI has not been disclosed, but the company said the game will be released in 2016.
