Tesla Model X SUV may be the world’s fastest SUV

The highly anticipated Tesla Model X SUV is going to be launched officially in the United States in the coming weeks. The reasons for the delayed deliveries of SUV are because of the problems with the cooling of the motors when hauling trailers and gullwing doors.

Tesla official Heath Walker informed that Tesla’s local arm in Australia was yet to determine if the seven seat layout will be standard or optional, but the company is now taking orders and deposits from potential local owners.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO said:

“First, I should address something that might be on your mind, like: ‘Where the heck is the Model X and the Model 3!? You should really get on that.’ Don’t worry, those remain our focus and good progress is being made on both. X is on track for first deliveries in two months and Model 3 in just over two years.”

People who want to secure a Tesla Model X SUV are required to deposit $6000 deposit, which will be fully refundable and deliveries are expected to begin soon this year. Mr Walker also said that the price of the Tesla Model X SUV would be competitive against the main rivals in the large SUV class.

According to company officials:

“Every Model X comes with all-wheel drive standard, powered by two independent, digitally controlled electric motors. Brilliantly functional Falcon Wing rear doors fold up and out of the way to allow easy access to the third row seats.”

Although the Tesla Model X SUV has yet to be tested, the company’s CEO said that a 0-60 time in seconds of “3.3-ish” could be expected, which will make it the fastest SUV on sale. Also Tesla’s more affordable future offering in the midsized Model 3 is set to be released in 2017.
