We may see Apple and BMW partnership in the future

There are a lot of rumors and speculations regarding Apple and BMW partnership these days. According to Reuters, Tim Cook and other Apple executives visited the assembly places of the BMW i3 to see the manufacturing process. Meanwhile, discussions have stopped for now, but they could be resumed.

The discussions regarding Apple and BMW partnership may possibly be resumed. The German automaker could possibly assemble the car of Apple in its factories. It could also share some of the features found on its cars.
Apple would have come in search of information on the industrial tool while BMW had offered to share its knowledge and its parts against license fees.

A senior BMW source said regarding Apple and BMW partnership:

“The Apple executives were impressed by the fact that we have abandoned the traditional approach of car making and started afresh. It chimed with the way they do things too.”

The German carmaker said currently there are no talks with Apple about jointly manufacturing a passenger car and US tech giant also declined to comment.

Maybe BMW is hesitating to share its technologies because it would not want to be a supplier for one or more internet giants in the future.

‘Project Titan’ is the codename for Apple’s car project, but information regarding it remains a closely guarded secret.

Apple has recently hired Doug Betts, a former senior vice-president at the Chrysler Group. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the tech giant has also hired Paul Furgale, a researcher on autonomous vehicles. All these rumors and speculation regarding Apple and BMW partnership might be true and in future we may see a car manufactured jointly by them.
