Skype has been continuously updating its Android app so that it can keep up with the other popular free calling and messaging apps in the market like Snapchat, Viber, LINE, Hangouts etc. that are offering much more. Now, Skype for Android 5.6 version has been released, which is more stable than before.

Skype is one of the most popular video calling and instant messaging app for both smartphones and desktops. It has improved a lot since Microsoft acquired it in 2011, but according to various users, Skype for Android app still needed some improvements.

What are the updates in Skype for Android 5.6?

The ‘Recent’ tab has been given a refreshed look and can now fit more conversations in the provided space. This is great news for users because they can now go through their threads without the hassle of excessive scrolling.

Skype for Android 5.6 comes with one more feature which makes the app look much better than before, i.e. the new lovely round avatars for the contacts. Users will also be able to see which of their friends are online no matter where they are in the app because round avatars and online status information will now appear on all screens.
