Glu Mobile developers earned more than $40 million in 2014 from Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game. Now after the success of the Kim Kardashian game, mobile developer Glu has announced the Nicki Minaj game and Jason Statham game.
Niccolo de Masi, Glu Chairman and CEO said:
“I am thrilled to welcome the undisputed queen of hip-hop, Nicki Minaj, to Glu’s growing list of celebrity partners. Nicki brings to Glu her audience of over 100 million social followers and a new music category. We look forward to combining Nicki’s distinctive style and massive global appeal with Glu’s celebrity social gaming expertise.”
Jason Statham game
The Jason Statham game will be a first person shooter game titled Sniper X: Kill Confirmed and will be released by the end of 2015. Jason Statham is the first male celebrity partner of Glu and the game will feature “high pressure, first-person shooter gameplay,” along with his name, voice and likeness.
Nicki Minaj game
Nicki Minaj has made a strong impact in almost every form of media. She has sold various gold records and even got endorsement deals with MAC Cosmetics and Pepsi. But there is less information regarding Nicki Minaj game. But it is sure that it will include Minaj’s name, voice and likeness. It is not clear what will be the theme of the game. The name of the game has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be launched in 2016.
Glu is still working on the Nicki Minaj game and Jason Statham game and it clearly has money to invest in these big names as it is hoping to replicate the Kim Kardashian game success. We can expect to see these mobile games hitting app stores soon. It is expected that Glu will be making more celebrity games in the coming future.
