PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users will no longer get updates of Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC

Dragon Age: Inquisition was released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in addition to their next generation consoles. But, Bioware has revealed in their blog post that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users will no longer get updates of Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC.

Bioware created a Save importer tool for users to transfer Dragon Age: Inquisition progress

Bioware has created a Save Importer tool so that players playing Dragon Age: Inquisition on Xbox 360 can move their saved files to Xbox One, and those playing on the PlayStation 3 can move their saved files to PlayStation 4. But imports and exports to or from PC are not supported.

The Save Importer tool will transfer both single player and multiplayer saved progress from seventh to eighth generation versions of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Players might only import up to 99 units of platinum, the premium multiplayer currency purchased using real world money during a Save Importer transfer. Users should spend down to that amount or less before making the transfer; otherwise they will lose the platinum that is left over.

Some of the most popular games of 2015 were released only on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 (PS 4) including Batman: Arkham Knight, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Dying Light and Evolve. This might mark the beginning of the end of game development on the Xbox 360 and PS 3 consoles

While some games like Grand Theft Auto V and Destiny continue to support both the current and previous generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles. They also include save imports to transfer characters from the Xbox 360 and PS3 to the Xbox One and PS 4 versions.

The announcement by BioWare that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users will no longer get updates of Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC is quite irritating for Dragon Age fans having older consoles. Now they have to either shell out $400 to upgrade to PlayStation 4 or $350 to upgrade to Xbox One, or just forget about their Dragon Age adventures.
