Microsoft Band 2 seems to be a stylish wearable

The first generation of Microsoft Band is a very capable fitness tracker, but wasn’t stylish. However, the leaked renders of Microsoft Band 2 via Microsoft Insider showcased a curved display and a stylish overall design.

It was first reported a couple of months back that the Redmond-based tech giant has started developing the second-generation of Microsoft Band.

The upcoming fitness tracker is dubbed “Envoy” and is being tested in Microsoft labs for the past few months. It seems now that Microsoft will officially announce the wearable on October 6 event.

According to a report by Microsoft Insider, the latest wearable is expected to come with a new metallic finish on part of the front display panel and will also have physical buttons.

It also claims that Band 2 will have a new functionality by which users will be able to measure elevation, i.e. climbing or descending flights of stairs or otherwise steep terrain. The location of the battery has also been changed: instead of the sides, it is now under the display.

At launch, Microsoft Band 2 will be more widely available across markets including European countries like France, Germany, Italy and Spain, the report says. More details will be revealed in the company’s October 6 event.
