Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 launched in China and will be launched globally on August 19

Xiaomi is a name that is becoming increasingly important in the field of smartphones, especially in China. The Chinese manufacturer launched a new smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 having some impressive specs.

Specs of Redmi Note 2:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has a 5.5 inch Full HD screen with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The latest device is lighter than its predecessor and weighs only 160 grams and measures 152mm x 76mm x 8.25mm.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is powered by MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor with A53 architecture, clocked at 2 GHz for the 16GB version of the device and clocked at 2.2 GHz for the 32 GB version. HTC’s flagship phone M9+, costing nearly four times as much as the Redmi is powered by the same processor.

The processor is coupled with 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and the phone will have a battery of 3060 mAh. The smartphone has a rear camera of 13 megapixels with Phase Detection Autofocus and the front camera of 5 megapixels. The phone will be running on Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 7, which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

It is a dual-SIM phone supporting 4G and in China, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 users can also take advantage of a new virtual SIM service, dubbed Mi Roaming, operating in 36 regions and service will cost only 0.1 yuan per MB on average. All existing phones of Xiaomi except the Mi 1 series will be upgradable to the developer version of MIUI 7 on August 14th.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is now available in China only and will be launched globally on August 19. The smartphone will cost $125 for the 16GB version and nearly $155 for the 32GB version.
