Back and Neck Pain Sufferers Increase with Technology

More and more people, especially young adults and teenagers in the United Kingdom, were suffering from back and neck pain, according to a study conducted by the British Chiropractic Association. Based on the same, they found evidences that pointed out to mobile device use and sedentary lifestyle as main causes.

Researchers did a survey with the main mission of finding out the percentage among young  adults under 30 who were suffering from back or neck pain as well as were spending long hours in a day sitting.

Forty-five percent among the 2,100 participants composed of 16-24-year-olds asked claimed that they suffer from a certain form of back or neck pain, data which is higher as compared to only 28 percent (among 18-24 year-olds surveyed last year).

Survey results can be found on the website of BCA, in which it revealed that 86 percent of the participants from varying age groups said that they experience similar problems, data higher than the recorded 76 percent from last year.

BCA claimed that the increase in the cases of people suffering from back pain cases might be due to excessive inactivity because people spend at 10 hours of their day sitting but only engage in less than two hours of exercise within the same period. The experts also blame technology, including tablet computers and mobile phones that cause people to hunch over for many hours.
