Google tweeted a teaser from its official twitter handle picking the curiosity of android users regarding prospective names for the new Android M. It has been a tradition for Google to name their OS after a dessert.

Just to remind you, the names of the older versions of android were :

Cupcake, Eclair, Donut, Gingerbread, Froyo, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat and Lollipop (Is it just me or you have water in your mouth too?)

Googlers Nat and Lo shared link of a teaser and tweeted, “What’s Android M gonna be?

At the end, the video shows a person dressed in white working on an Android statue (which seemed to us like a marshmallow) which probably will be placed in the famous Google lawn which also has statues of the older android versions.

Keeping in mind this tradition, the prospective names for the new Android M could be “Moon Pie” or “Milkshake” or “Meatball”. With Sundar Pichai as the new CEO of Google, speculations are rife that the name for the new Android M could be “Mango Lassi”. “Marshmallows” could be another potential name.
